from September 4, 2014Nuevo Líder del DistritoYes, you read correctly (or maybe you didn’t, cuz it’s in Spanish), I’m the new District Leader of District D, Branch 132! I don’t really do a lot except ask the elders to pray and go to meetings, but I still feel really responsible for these elders.Elder McQuivey and I are really getting into a groove with teaching. We’re switching, we’re sharing the time evenly, we’re testifying, we’re feeling the spirit, and we’re addressing the needs of our (albeit, fake) investigators. Most of the funny Elders left, so our hilarious translations have been suffering. Dad, I don’t think I’m allowed to have translations of “Stripes”, even if it is pretty genius. We have been doing other quotes though. Some of my work includes: “Mi nombre es Inigo Montoya. Usted mató mi padre. Prepare a morir.” and “¿Donde está el amor?” and also a large portion of the song “Fancy” by Iggy Azalea. Edited, of course. To make Mom feel better, I also have my missionary purpose, the baptismal challenge, and the whole first vision memorized EN ESPAÑOL. Wuddup.Mom, I really like that quote by Richard G. Scott. I always knew that salvation was hard work, but I never realized how constant it would have to be. We should never reach a point where we say “Phew. I’m finally doing enough.” There will always be more. More to learn, more to improve upon, more to do. Elder Holland once said that after his/her mission, every missionary should be “bigger, better, older, and bolder”, and I issue to you that same challenge. Specifically, check out Moroni 7, verse 45 (I think). It should be the one about charity. It goes through all of the attributes of charity, and I have made it a personal goal to be able to substitute my name in place of “Charity”. Maxwell suffereth long, etc. I’ve got it written down somewhere.Anyways, in an attempt to be funny and a good missionary, for all my non-member friends, I would like to quote Nacho Libre: “I just wanted to know why you have not been baptized? I’m just concerned, you know, for your salvation and stuff.”I love you guys, the family, and most of those outside the family.Elder Max Webb
