Exciting news! This week,
they will re-open the área of San Fernando, which has been closed almost 2
years! They will be part of our zone, and we have gotten to know some of the
members from out there. They are great people, and they are all really excited to
have missionaries. As far as I know, they will be sending only Mexicans because
of the safety situation, but they will be able to get some good work done. It’s
a historical moment.
I was looking at my family
tree the other day, and I realized that 3 of my 4 great-grandmothers were OLDER
than their husbands. Not a huge deal, but pretty scandalous in the 1920s, I
bet. I just thought that was cool.

So this week, we are
expecting another baptism! Whoo! Gisela is super awesome and she loves the
Gospel. She’s already got friends, her own Book of Mormon AND LDS Bible, and
she’s going to all the activities with the youth, too. We’re really excited.
My testimony this week is
simple. We can receive forgiveness only because of Jesus Christ. Were it not
for his perfect obedience and self-sacrifice, we would have no opportunity to
be forgiven of our sins, which are many. All He asks in return is an effort, an
attempt to be perfect. He knows we won’t make it, but we need to try, so that
He can stand before Heavenly Father at the day of the Judgement and say “I can
vouch for him. He wasn’t perfect, but he tried his best to do everything I
asked”, and then we can enjoy eternal life. So let’s try to be like Jesus every
day.
Love y’all.
